It's all very well wanting to be productive and motivated, but who wants another app that organises things into lists? Here are three apps that will keep you motivated and amused in equal measure - probably.
Do you find that accomplishing things in real life just isn't giving you the satisfaction anymore? Habitica turns your real life into a role-playing game, turning all of your chores and tasks into pixelated monsters. When you do well in the real world, your avatar does well in the game world. And so do your friends, because you can play this co-op too.
If you feel like you need more of an incentive to clean your bathroom, or wish there was some sort of consequence when you've sat on Facebook for three hours, this app might be for you. Defeating a boss because you loaded the dishwasher has to be pretty motivating.
Getting up in the morning isn't easy, and this app certainly won't change that. But it promises to get you awake and keep you awake, and start your brain up in the process. To do this it challenges you to pull a face, say a tongue twister or take a photo of something a certain colour - or, actually force you out of bed. If you don't do it within the time limit, the alarm goes off again.
If you're not prepared to start taking orders from your android we totally understand, but we're guessing that this app will make your mornings more productive just through its lack of a snooze button.
This app is only available on Android
This app works on the principle that you will probably run faster if you have hoards of flesh-eating zombies chomping in your ear. Plug in your headphones and start running, and you'll be thrown into a story straight out of 28 days later just through your headphones, complete with rescue missions, survivors and plot twists galore.
If that sounds far too stressful for your morning jog, try their sister app The Walk Game, which has a gentler pace but the same amount of awesome plot line.
