Christophe Duhaut gets ready for the Great North Run

We're running the Great North Run for CHUF; the Children's Heart Unit Fund. CHUF's mission is to help to children and young people with heart conditions, by providing lifelong support to them and their families. If you’d like to donate, please visit our JustGiving page

Web developer Christophe Duhaut is currently training for the Great North Run. We caught up with him to find out how the training is going, and why Christophe wanted to get involved.

'I recently did the Great North 10k. It's a good way of figuring out where you're at in your training, and prepare for the Great North Run. I wanted to see how fast I could do a 10k, and I did it in 44 minutes 27 seconds. I wanted to do it within 45 minutes so I was pleased. The faster I go, the faster it's done and the less pain there is in my legs.'

'I did the Great North Run in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014. And then this year, I was approached by someone in the team that said they were going to run for CHUF. It's been a while since I've done the Great North Run and it's a great charity to be running for, so I signed up.'

'I joined the Claremont Road Runners running club, which one of our Directors Tom Tinsley helps out with. It's been really enjoyable because I get to see Tom, who has now retired, and get out running with a group after work. It's a nice thing to do in the evenings. When I see both Adam McCormick and Adam Kuznesof running at six in the morning I think, not a chance.'

'CHUF is a really wonderful charity to support; it makes a huge difference to the North East and it really relies on donations to do the work that it does. The donations fund equipment, aftercare, facilities and further research into the kinds of heart conditions that children and young people can suffer with. It's a really amazing charity and I'm proud to be running for them.'

Transcendit have signed up to Strava, which is an awesome little site that keeps track of our running times, our average speed and gives us a leaderboard of this week’s top runners. At time of writing, Christophe has travelled 88.6km, and ran for a total of 6 hours and 55 minutes - awarding him second place on our leaderboard. To keep up to date on how Christophe is doing, track his progress on Strava

If you’d like to help children and young people with heart conditions, donate using our JustGiving page. Any and all donations help, and are much appreciated.

The Transcendit Way

Transcendit understand that when you choose to work with us, whether we're taking care of your IT, app or web development, you're trusting us with part of your business. So whether we're looking after your computers, phone systems or servers we always do things 'the Transcendit way'.

The whole of our team adhere to the same values, beliefs and policies - the principles that were written when Transcendit first formed in 2000. Whether you come to us for cloud services or recovery backup you can be confident that you'll always receive the same excellent service.

The Transcendit way outlines how we do business; following the same straightforward principles with every client and customer, regardless of how big or small they may be.

That means we get to know you and your business. We offer you a friendly, professional and efficient service, and we'll always be honest with you.
We understand that not everybody speaks fluent IT, so we try to explain things in a way that is simple and clear. We always spend as much time as is necessary explaining things to you.
If you need to talk to us about something, no matter how insignificant, we are only ever a phone call away – and we’re never too busy to make you a cup of tea and have a sit down with you in person.
We understand how frustrating it can be when things are late. When we schedule an appointment with you, we are there when you’re expecting us. If something prevents us from getting there, we always call you in advance to let you know.
Sometimes things can go wrong, but we never lie to you or try to cover something up. If things go askew we tell you what’s happened and how we plan to prevent it affecting your business.
We want you to continuously benefit from working with us. We regularly discuss your business and make suggestions for improving systems and processes wherever we can – but we never try to push you into a purchase.
When we quote a fixed price, that's always the amount we charge – you won’t find any nasty surprises on a bill from us. If you are paying by time and materials, we inform you if our approximations could change.
We understand the importance of privacy for your business and your customers. We respect the confidentiality of your data, and we will never pass on your information to third parties.
We appreciate it when you take the time to give us feedback. A system called CustomerSure records our client's responses, so you can trust that our reviews are from real people.
