The Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) is a charity close to Transcendit's heart as it was founded in 1979 by Anne Scott, mother of Transcendit Director Dave. It was formed after the death of Dave's sister Lesley Anne who was born with the same congenital heart defect that had claimed the life of her sister, and Anne’s first daughter, Lisa.
CHUF aims to keep the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle at the forefront of children’s cardiac care. It raises money to buy equipment, facilities, childcare, pay salaries and fund research for the Children’s Heart Unit and PICU. Funds go towards helping the doctors, nurses and carers give the best care for the children and their families.
We show our support by making regular donations, attending and supporting fundraising events! Tom Tinsley has run the Great North Run (GNR) several times and Transcendit have also supplied the vest for all the CHUF GNR runners. In 2010 we had the pleasure of raising nearly £2,500 for CHUF whilst having fun celebrating Transcendit's 10th Anniversary.
