Netflix is one of the best streaming services out there - award winning original shows, good user interface and a low price tag (even lower if you're a Netflix moocher and someone else is picking up the bill!). But if you're sticking to original recipe Netflix, you're missing out on a whole bunch of awesome features. Here's our top tips to take Netflix to the next level.
Rotate the screen with Netflix Flip
You know that feeling when you've been chain watching a series in bed, and you're getting seriously bored of watching the characters sideways? Wave goodbye to it with Netflix Flip, an awesome Chrome extension that allows you to spin Netflix 90 degrees. There's literally no need to get up.
Embrace your inner critic
Netflix has some great algorithms, but they can only work if you make them work. Start rating the things you're watching, and Netflix will start making better and better guesses at what you'll enjoy. It's also worth using the 'My List' function for better recommendations. Less scrolling, more watching.
Watch Netflix long-distance
Trying to watch the new episode of The Good Place with your partner, but getting tired of them being two or three seconds ahead? Download the Chrome extension Netflix Party and you can watch remotely with friends! It even adds a group chat so you can argue about whether frozen yogurt is delicious or disgusting.
Become a Netflix guinea pig
Want to get the newest Netflix features first? If you're a real Netflix junkie, head to your Account, and then hit Test Participation. Turn that switch on, and you'll be fed new features (like the Skip Intro button) weeks and even months before everyone else. Perfect for convincing your friends that you can see into the future.
Choose what's being added
Are you absolutely desperate to see a certain series, but can't track it down anywhere? You can send a cheeky request to Netflix to let them know what you'd like to watch. You get to choose three titles per request, so pick wisely! If a ton of people request the same show, it's likely that Netflix will take notice.
Go to town on special features
DVDs may be on the way out, but do you miss all those lovely trailers and making-of segments? Head to 'Trailers and More' and you can access a ton of special features for a load of different shows; interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, trailers for new seasons and more.
