The Thinking Digital conference is returning to Sage Gateshead next month, bringing together a host of speakers, tech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs who are 'curious about technology, ideas and our future'.
The conference is approaching it's ninth year, and has gained a reputation for assembling an impressive selection of speakers from all over the world. Thinking Digital 2016 also includes workshops, networking opportunities and a startup competition - as well as the selection of talks from the technological heavyweights.
This year's speakers include Google innovator Joe Faith, computer security and cryptography expert Sarah Meiklejoh and Channel 4 director MT Rainey. The North East is also well represented by Darren Jobling, the CEO of Zerolight in Gateshead, and Will Dracup, the CEO of Biogsignatures in Newcastle.
The workshops held on the first day include 'Be the hero of your own life', a workshop on positively influencing those around you, 'Sharing the air', a session discussing workshops and meetings in the workplace, and 'Arts unusual collaborations', a seminar on incorporating technology into the creative arts.
Ten startups will also be competing to win the fifth annual 'Thinking Digital Start Up Competition', where entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a judging panel for a chance at, 'fame, glory and prizes'.
Herb Kim, the CEO of Thinking Digital says that,'One of the nicest things that has arisen from Thinking Digital is the sense of community. Being surrounded by like-minded, curious and creative and innovative people is actually the reason that so many people return every year.'
Thinking Digital 2016 is at Sage Gateshead on the 10th and 11th May. You can still apply to attend as a volunteer here.
