Transcendit are taking part in a sponsored zip line over the Tyne river on Sunday 16th October, to raise money for Fight All Cancers Together (FACT).
Taking the leap of faith will be Alan Common, Nick Elliott, Dave Park and Dave Scott from our support team, with Christophe Duhaut and Anthony Karapetrides representing our development team.
FACT provides help, support and social opportunities for anyone affected by cancer. 'I think we all know somebody who has been diagnosed with it.' says Dave Scott. 'It's life changing for the person suffering, and their family and friends. FACT really makes a difference in our community.'
Over the course of last year, Transcendit raised over £2000 for FACT. 'We ran the 22 miles between our offices in Meadowfield (Durham) and Team Valley in a relay.' says Dave. 'It was a great experience for us as a business. We're so excited to support them again this year.'
According to the ZipSlides UK website, 'The zip slide starts from the Newcastle side 30 metres above the river and travels diagonally across the River Tyne for 230m, before finishing at HMS Calliope on the Gateshead side.'
Dave Park has some reservations about the zip line, 'I think it'll be really rewarding, and it's a great charity to do it for,' he says. 'I am nervous about it though, I'm scared of heights. I'm glad that we'll all be there doing it together, I don't think I could do it without the rest of the team there.'
Anthony is looking forward to it, 'I wouldn't say I was an adrenaline junkie, but when things like these arise I don't say no. If I can try something new, and raise money for a worthwhile cause, why not?'
